Tuesday, June 11th, 2013
Tour Time: 1:00PM – 6:00PM

This scenic tour will provide guests a diverse and informative view of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Professional and knowledgeable step-on guides will accompany each motor coach and provide interesting facts and history of the area and promote the geologic wonders of the alpine environments of Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP).

It is an approximate 35-minute ride from Snow Mountain Ranch to the WEST Portal/Grand Lake Entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. RMNP encompasses and protects over 415 square miles of pristine mountain environments. The tour will follow Trail Ridge Road and cross the Continental Divide and summit at over 12,000 feet in elevation. Guests will be treated to spectacular views of the surrounding peaks (including Longs Peak at 14,265 feet) and of the clear alpine lakes, rushing streams and the pine and aspen forests below. The tour will make a stop at the Alpine Visitors Center where guests will be able to view the informative exhibits about alpine tundra, stretch their legs and use the facilities.

The group will make their way back to the West Portal Entrance and through the quaint town of Grand Lake which is named after the largest and deepest natural lake in Colorado. Grand Lake is an integral part of the headwaters of the Colorado River.
