The final program is now available!

The Chapman Conference will span 5 days (Monday through Friday) in addition to Sunday’s Icebreaker on 27 September.

Session topics include: (1) Physics of Magnetic Reconnection; (2) The Roles of Dayside and Tail Reconnections in Solar Wind Dynamo; (3) Storm Dynamics: Solar Wind-Magnetosphere (SW-M) Coupling; (4) Substorm Dynamics: Magnetosphere-Ionosphere (M-I) Coupling; (5) Overview of MMS and Initial Results

Tutorial lectures will include:

Physics of Magnetic Reconnection by Jim Drake

Role of Reconnection in Solar Dynamics and Heating by Jim Klimchuk

Comparative Magnetospheres in Solar System by Vytenis Vasyliunas

Space Weather by Howard Singer

Overview and highlights of MMS by Jim Burch

Banquet Speaker: Syun Akasofu – What I Learned From Auroral Substorms

Proceedings will be published in a volume of the AGU Geophysical Monograph Series. Editors of this volume will be selected to cover the key areas of the Chapman Conference. Papers in the volume will be selected from those presented at the conference as well as solicited papers relevant to the conference.
