The all-day field trip on Wednesday will include a visit to the base of the cinder cone of Pico de Tiede and then to the Izaña Atmospheric Observatory. The group will leave the hotel at 8:30 A.M. and will return around 7:00 P.M.

Temperatures in Puerto de la Cruz range from 16º C to 22ºC in March. Although the climate is mild, cool evenings are possible. If you plan to visit  La Laguna, or do some hiking in the Anaga Massif mountains, be prepared for scattered showers. And don’t forget the sunscreen!

If you plan to go on the field trip to Teide, you should expect cold temperatures. Mountain top weather is variable and fog or high winds may occur. We do not rule out snowfall in March. Once you arrive at the National Park, your time will be spent at altitudes between 2,200m asl (the Izana Observatory is at 2,400 m asl) and 3,570m asl (Terminal of the cable car and Pico Viejo excursion). Please note that people who have health problems that may be affected by altitude should not participate in the field trip.
